This looks good to me! Really nice job putting this together!
FYI, after this is merged the PR#786 can be merged. It uses these commits and adds changes to update the quick build instructions to reStructuredText and adds a Makefile in docs/.
Add Open-Source tools info Add Crocus documentation, clean up citation
