This extension will help you focus while managing the sounds in the background.

The way the extension works is that you pick the tab that you want to focus on. Then whenever that tab is actively playing sound, the extension will mute all other tabs, which means the process of dealing with pausing, re/playing, and juggling between tabs is automated.
