I have it pending over at main retropie repo but am leaving it here as well if that doesn't get approved (see RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup#3948)
The main reasoning behind using standalone flycast it gives you better performance on a few of the dreamcast games that don't function well at 2x internal resolution on lr-flycast. Also Naomi2 games such as Virtua Fighter 4 seem to perform better
