This seems to be a safe way of doing it. I am wondering if we need to "protect" some folder files to make sure they don't have any upstream reference. In special, there is some intrincansys on the BEC at XPCS. I think this ties back to the "blocks" of specific code I was talking before.
Either way, I think this is good to go and the changes will be for the better.
