Note that the wis2box can in principle publish any data using the universal-plugin but the users need guidance on what data to publish on which topic in WIS2 (and what data -not- to publish on WIS2 ...)
Is this something that is or will be covered by the "wis2-cookbook" ?
NMHSs provide aviation weather services in accordance with the international standards of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and the WMO (World Meteorological Organization) to provide the various users of the airspace over their countries with the meteorological information they need. These users include air traffic control, airport operators, airlines, pilots of airliners, motorised aircraft, helicopters, and others. The purpose of the TT-AvData is to develop and maintain aviation data standards in liaison with the ICAO. And the discussion we had related to WIS2-SWIM interoperability is one of WIS2 outreach to build a bridge between WIS2 and SWIM and to avoid that NMHSs should maintain and use two different systems (one for weather and another for aviation). Some technical details are published in the guide to WIS vol. II about this interoperability WIS2-SWIM, however how this will be done is still unknown.
For NMHSs they can start publishing the aviation data in WIS2 but as recommended data not core data and use the appropriate topics for that.
As a meteorological service I have a requirement to publish aviation data using the IWXXM XML format, how do I do this through the WIS2box?
