pass statement as closing bracket

Hi everyone!

Throughout the codebase I see the usage of pass keyword that looks to me as a visual closing bracket. Example from unsloth.kernels.__init__.py:

if "UNSLOTH_ZOO_IS_PRESENT" not in os.environ:
    try:
        print("🦥 Unsloth: Will patch your computer to enable 2x faster free finetuning.")
    except:
        print("Unsloth: Will patch your computer to enable 2x faster free finetuning.")
    pass
pass
del os

I have never seen anyone use anything like that in Python before. Could you, please, refer to a PEP that recommends such usage and elaborate the benefits of issuing this statement after every code block?

Hey - it's mainly a style thing - I come from a C++ / C / Assembly background, so once I moved over to Python, I constantly need to close up for, if else, try except, def, class sections.

It's not normal Python, but the pass essentially is ignored by the Python interpreter. There's no benefit at all, but just better for very long sections
