Question about thanos receiver scalling

I have a question about thanos receiver scalling :)

  hashrings.json: |

           "endpoint": ["endpoint1", "endpoint2", "endpoint3", "endpoint4"],

    ]

If the thanos receveir is set with this option : - "--receive.replication-factor=1"

Does this will scale horrizontaly ?

If a metrics is comming, it will choose 2 of the 4 endpoint (because of the replication) ? And so it will load balance betweend all the receiver ?

I have another question. Is there any endpoint health check ? If one is down, all the metrics goes to the other one ?
