Somehow a new contributor got assigned. When unassign, the old one was mentioned and no one got unassigned.

Wish: Unassigned the last assigned one (or all). Also mention that person.

Wrong mention here: JabRef/jabref#12702 (comment) It was an action of us changing the assignmee in that case 😅🙈
