I'm Jon from Florida. My passion project for the last several years has been combining advanced mathematical constructions to enable decentralized systems, and my goal is to write code that is reliable, easy-to-use, and instructive as a reference for the underlying mathematical concepts. In the past 3 years, I have read approximately 100 computer science papers and technical specifications in my spare time, and I have implemented and published things like MuSig, anonymous multi-hop locks, the Eltoo payment channel system, adapter signatures, conflict-free replicated data types, a new ORM with relations for DAGs, 2 novel logical clock mechanisms, a Merkle tree library, and even a tool for automatically generating documentation for Python packages.

One of my more interesting projects is micropycelium, a self-organizing packet switching mesh network designed for ESP32. The ultimate goal is to make it easy for anyone to bootstrap their own mesh network and deploy their own cryptographically advanced application on that network, and micropycelium is intended to make that goal an inevitability.

Reading through dense mathematical papers, implementing the concepts, and writing thorough tests to prove the validity of the implementations takes a lot of time. The opportunity cost is quite high when I could be working on paying projects. Sponsorships would allow me to more easily justify focusing on these FOSS efforts instead of renting out my code monkey skills to buy groceries. Life is too expensive to spend all my time working for free, though I would love to if I could.
