Support for headless components

It would be nice to also have support for headless components, so they are completely unstyled, fully accessible UI components. We can provide our own style that way, and style them in whatever way fits us the most.

And the thing about headless components is that, in my experience, people actually don't want to start from scratch. It's much, much easier to start with sensible base styles and customize from there.

This is exactly what CSS was designed to do.

Libraries such as Shoelace makes this easy for you. Its default theme has opinions for the sake of ease and consistency, but you can override them at a high level (design tokens) and/or at a low level (components) to achieve the look you want without having to write all the styles yourself.

And it's worth mentioning that, with Web Awesome Pro, you'll be able to get most of the customizations you want just by turning some knobs — and we guarantee they'll work because of how it's designed.

I can absolutely second that and am super happy about Shoelace's/Web Awesome's approach.

You are right, I think that's the only option for now. It's good to see that https://lion-web.netlify.app/ is created by ING bank and is actively being maintained by them.
