brackets depends on libcurl3; however:
Package libcurl3 is not installed.
dpkg: error processing package brackets (--install):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
I found this adobe/brackets#14171
It seems brackets wants libcurl3, where Ubuntu 18.04 has by default libcurl4.
So yout problem has nothing to do with NixNote.
It seems there are some workarounds, how you can force brackets to use libcurl4.
Expected vs. actual behavior
installing nixnote desintalls brackets.io
worked OK with Ubuntu 16.04 but not with Ubuntu 18.04
Steps to reproduce
Upgrade from Ubuuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 18.04
Nixnote 201812152023
2.1.2-eubuntu18.04.1 :in conflict with nixnotes2
nixnote2-tidy is installed
