Description

The extension could have a configuration to set the default selected option in the dropdown of gists to search (My Gists/Starred Gists)

Who will benefit from this feature?

Reduces the time needed to lookup starred gists, if that is a frequent action for specific users

You can enable the Remember Filter Tag preference to save the dropdown value. This will allow it to automatically remember your last selected option.

This partially solves the problem:

In the case where I always want it to show starred gists, but only do a one-time switch to my gists. the next time I open the search, i'd like it to have starred gists again, and not have it remember that I used my gists, the last time

one way to solve this, and still keep the existing option would be to convert this one to a dropdown option:

default filter tag:

  • starred gists
  • my gists
  • remember previous selection
