Don't use the cross-reference prefixes (i.e., fig-).
To expand on what I said on the other thread, fig- and a caption means your image is a figure thus can be cross-referenced.
If you set that ID at a div level, it means you are building a cross-reference div.

You could also try regular (S)CSS and/or JavaScript to remove/hide the content.
