  all occurrences of the word Wikidata must be changed to "data item". Because Wikidata is the name of the Wikimedia project, like Wiktionary or Wikipedia. What we have on the OSM Wiki are data items.

I am happy to call the Wikidata data items. I don't like just calling them "data items" because that is too generic. We need some hint in the name as to where those "things" "live".
Given the Wikidata Glossary I tink prefixing "Wikidata" is a good hint that this is something that belongs in the realm of the wiki but is something other than a wiki page or a wiki infobox.

I agree to @maro-21 , Wikidata is a different project, there is no "OSM Wikidata item" anywhere, the text / description which iD shows for a preset does not come from a "Wikidata entry" (in the Wikidata project) but from an (OSM) data item (in the OSM wiki). What a data item is is documented in the OSM wiki for many years already. If you think there must be some "hint that this is something that belongs in the realm of the wiki" I suggest to call it "data item on the OSM wiki".

-> Check the (i) documentation and add or update the data item on the OSM wiki if needed to provide a helpful short text.
-> Does your tag have a data item in the OSM wiki? Click the small pencil icon next to the text to open the data item on the OSM wiki. Improve this wording if needed. If the data item on the OSM item is missing, learn more about how to add it in "Current methods for creating new items".

Wikidata is a proper name.
We also link to Wikidata in OSM in tags like wikidata=*, brand:wikidata=* and similar.
