Right now, starting up the dashboard after having not used it on a cluster in some time results in having to wait a very long time while it replays state. If it's been a while that could be impossibly long to the point where it becomes impractical to use the dashboard at all. Some of the slowness may be due to associated UI updates that could be skipped. Maybe there's a way to make startup nearly instant by fast-forwarding to the most recent state?

I'd love to see a PR here, but we don't really have time to implement this.
What are you currently using the dashboard for? We're currently more
focused on adding some helpful api functions that play back the log for
some purpose, e.g.
https://github.com/onyx-platform/onyx/blob/0.12.x/src/onyx/api.clj#L380.
