A realistic plan to v1.0.0 (with new xlsx template)

The plan is more about the steps than the time. Time to work on voc4cat-tool is and will be limited.

Doing all possible changes and improvements discussed in #124 would take too long. It is essential to define what should be in v1.0 and what can be done later. My current thinking is this:

Essential:

• A new xlsx template incorporating all worthwhile ideas from Possible improvements for template and converter #124
  • This template may initially have more features (columns, fields) than voc4cat-tool v1.0.0 will support.
• Update of xlsx-import, xlsx-export, converters, validators and tests to new template.

Profile changes supporting the extended features that the new template brings do not have to be part of v1.0.0. They can be done later. An xlsx-template that can store more than the current profile can represent is fine. Only a richer profile would be a problem because not all information would survive the xlsx <-> turtle conversions.

A minimal v1.0.0 would thus only update the xlsx-template but have initially the same (profile-validated) information as the current version (vocpub-4.5). However, even this will improve the user experience and it will be the basis for later changes less visible to the user.

The development should happen in the new development branch dev-1.0.0. All related issue and PRs will be tacked with milestone 1.0.0 so you can follow progress.

The maintenance of the current 0.x-series will be done in main as before.
