Hi, I'm about to replace some switches which sums up to about 200 interfaces. Do I have to unlink and reconnect every single cable to the new switches or does netbox provide a feature like "take these 48 cables from this old switch and plug it 1:1 to a new device"? |

Unfortunately, you need to delete and recreate all the cables. You cannot even move one endpoint of an existing cable. If you're recording label/color/length then all those attributes need to be re-entered. If this is a like-for-like, drop-in replacement of a switch (same device type) then it's much easier just to change the attributes of the device - i.e. serial number and asset tag, and MAC addresses of interfaces if they are recorded. |
