I would like to request an option in the settings menu to enable or disable the display of recently opened projects in the Welcome Page.
Currently, VS Code provides the command "File: Clear Recently Opened...", but it has to be run manually each time. A dedicated setting (e.g., "workbench.showRecentProjects": false) would make it easier to keep the Welcome Page clean without needing to constantly clear the list.
This feature would be useful for users who prefer a clutter-free startup experience or have privacy concerns regarding their recently opened projects. Other editors, like Notepad++, offer similar options, and I believe this would be a valuable addition to VS Code.
A similar request was previously made here: #182475, but it was closed due to inactivity. I believe this feature would still be valuable, and I hope it can be reconsidered.
Thank you for considering this feature!
