I don't think logs are required for this issue.

Checked. Behavior is same on both ends.

  • VS Code Version: 1.85.0
  • OS Version: 14.1.2 (23B92)
  • Logs:

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Demonstrated the steps in the attached gif
  2. It looks like the chat doesn't pick up the selected text from the csv file selection, for generating the notebook. However, chat does manage to list the columns in the selected text if requested for
  3. I have seen similar behavior, when I select an error message in the python notebook and ask it to explain using the slash command. But, this specific behavior (related to the error message) is NOT consistent - it works sometimes and doesn't work sometimes. I can try to recreate this scenario if it helps
