Repro Steps

WSL2 and all distributions / instances were working perfectly.

Windows Update installed and rebooted - Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.22635.4367) (KB5044373).

WSL2 no longer runs. Unresponsible to any wsl.exe commands.

Expected Behavior

Expected WSL2 to run as expected.

Actual Behavior

Doesn't run at all.

Have tried uninstalling / reinstalling by first removing:

  • Docker Desktop 4.34.3.170107
  • Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
  • Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName VirtualMachinePlatform
  • Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName HypervisorPlatform
  • Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V-All

[restarted]

Reinstalled in reverse order and up until Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux.

Will retry and capture the logs.
