I would like to have live widgets on the Windows 11 desktop, similar to what Android and macOS offer. For example, I want to display a Notion calendar, email updates, or progress from apps like Duolingo directly on my desktop. These widgets should show real-time updates, making it easier to stay organized and informed without opening multiple apps.
Currently, the Windows desktop is either filled with icons and folders or completely empty. Adding live widgets would make the desktop more useful and interactive. Many popular apps already have widgets on other platforms, so it would be great if Windows could support them too.
Scenario when this would be used?
This feature would be helpful in many situations:
Viewing my Notion calendar or tasks directly on the desktop while working.
Tracking my Duolingo progress without opening the app.
Getting email updates at a glance.
It would save time and make multitasking easier by reducing the need to switch between apps or browser tabs.
Supporting information
Widgets are already common on Android and macOS, and they make those platforms more user-friendly. Many apps like Notion, Duolingo, and email clients already support widgets on mobile devices. If Windows 11 supported live desktop widgets, it would improve productivity and make the desktop more modern and customizable.
This version simplifies your request while keeping it clear and professional!
