Located in the desert north of Los Angeles
1930's--started as a small airstrip
1940--airfield for US Army Air Force
1951--LA County purchases
1970--LA World Airports (LA City) purchases
2013--City of Palmdale acquires

During LAWA's operations, there were commercial flights, but most carriers left by the 1980's.
