I attempted to send myself a clear signed email using plain text mode and with URLs in the message. As the link above shows GMAIL adds <a> tags around the URLs. I don't know if this happens on the reader's end or the sender's end. However when I took the original post and removed the HTML tags the signature was still invalid. I am unable to speculate further why this is.

NOTE if you view the Gist with webpg installed the output is all wrong. You have to load the raw version instead.

I just tried this manually. Gmail injects HTML into messages and webpg does not get the original text.

Workaround: If you click on the little arrow and select show original the signature will validate.

I have the same issue in WebPG 0.9.4 + chrome 29.0.1547.57 + ubuntu 13.04 64 bits

See this for the received mail. You need to read Gist without enabling webpg.

The problem can be reprocedured when the email content has <[email protected]>. It looks like it is misintepreted as HTML tag and </[email protected]> is added at the end of signature. And in this case, show original workaround does not work.
