Considering that WorkStatus is becoming an integral player in the CombinedStatus feature, I believe its API and CRD setup should be ported into the main repo.

I think we should not strengthen the dependency of this repo on ks/ks. There is already a strong dependency in the other direction, and we are close to breaking the cycle.
