Server/Container-side storage of user-data

Is it possible to have the docker container store the user-data in a docker volume?

My scenario is, that I have a docker host on the internet, but I am not allowed to run software in my work environment. I did search on github, but was not able to find a config / workaround for this.

Hi there! Thank you very much for the question. A workaround that worked well enough for me in the past is to use the web app. Most of the things should work fine with it and only the Jira integration and the idle handling also require the browser extension to be installed. Setting up a docker instance in the way you describe is currently not possible though.

Are there any directions you could provide regarding what needs to be done/programmed to realize the (optional!) storage on the server/container side?

Currently all data is stored client side. There are no backends or user authentication. I started working on allowing for custom database adapters some time ago, because so many were having issues with IndexedDB (which now seems to be solved). This could be helpful if you are serious about this and as far as I remember it is already working pretty well. If this get's implemented you could write an adapter for it which in turn would need to communicate with a custom backend.

Since I have a nextcloud instance available as well I am going to try the sync approach with an individual super-productivity container.

That is probably the easiest solution.
