Just found this project. It is amazing!
I had started on working something like this for myself. I got about as far as a single persistent text box when I stumbled upon your application. Needless to say, I'm abandoning mine 👍

I would love to help where I can. I'm a software engineer by day, but more of a systems / algorithm guy. Web is still new to me.

Hi! This is great to hear! Maybe a good first step is to get the project running.

Beyond that there are a lot of things that would need help and also a couple marked good first issue (though this doesn't necessarily mean that they are easy, just that they only require minimal knowledge of the project). I'd suggest picking one of those, ideally one that sounds easy to do while still being interesting enough. If you don't find anything I am sure you can come up with something you'd like to see improved.

I would just like to thank you for developing this app. I got tired of syncing pomodoro apps and wondering why they would want the data. Connecting tasks to pomos is also key.

I can only give a "user" perspective, unfortunately. Is it difficult to download the data as an excel or csv file? I know json is a common format in certain fields using mixed data, but for the average user, we don't even know how to use the format and may not have heard of it.

Hey there! You can export your data as csv from the worklog. You can get there by clicking on the three little dots to the right of a project or the "Today" list. From there you can use the button with the arrow to export your data as csv.

Another way is to click finish day. From there you can export the task data for the day or the current week.

Is there a way to indicate times that are not a workbreak but a lunch break? Can we schedule what hours are to be included in our workday in other words? The reason for this is that I would like to use a productivity technique that divides total time by total time working to get the percentage of break/unproductive time to working time. This simple metric is very useful. In order to do this easily, you might let us keep the option of total minutes rather than hours and minutes of time. Even better would be to get this number automatically. Again thanks for your product.

I could even see this as a graph to export. This would allow you to see how your productivity varied over days and maybe even time periods. Overtime, you could see your optimal work/rest ratio that you can maintain. Breaks are important as your product recognizes.

Hey! There are three possible states from this perspective Work, Break or nothing :) You could mark your lunch breaks as nothing, e.g. by skipping tracking on the idle dialog when you come back from lunch.

Btw. could you maybe use a new Q&A question for new questions? This would make it easier to find them for answers looking for the same problem. I've to admit that it is not very clear from he UI how to do this in the first place.

Thank you very much for this project. I can't believe that i found it only yesterday.
I was searched something like this for years and when i found it, turns out it is even better what i imagined.
the pomodoro combined with tasks rocks.

By the way, my last work project was electron based, so i'll check out the issues and see if i can help somehow in the project.

Great job and by far the best application for managing time.

one small suggestion, When I start to add sub-tasks for a parent task every time I add one I need to re-right-click on the parent task and select add sub-task again and again.
I think it would be extremely helpful If by hitting enter it automatically switches to the next subtask and If I didn't write a new sub-task then It will disappear on own. Thanks for this awesome project!

What I personally do is this:

1. Focus parent task or one of the other sub tasks via mouse or preferably via keyboard (indicated by colored border)
2. Press "a" to add another sub task

Does this maybe solve the problem?
