The bug

Web browser:
When pressing "view in timeline" for an image that was opened outside of the timeline (e.g. map, albums), the timeline scrolls, but fails to scroll to the correct date/time of the image. This can sometimes be a year out.
This has been happening for a while. It may be similar to Issue #15829, but my library is quite large (30k photos) spanning around 20 years.

Mobile app:
Timeline scrolls to the correct place.

Confirmed in 1.128.0 as well.
I notice this most when clicking the "View in Timeline" button in a memory. It often "overshoots" by several years when seeking back in the timeline.
Works ok in mobile view. Issue seems to be limited to the web view.

1.129.0 appears to have fixed it for me

I can confirm that 1.129.0 fixed it for me as well.
(It seems the scrolling animation was removed.)
