allow slugs in URL

Should be able to hit http://gist.io/3789349/some-text-here.html or whatever. Bonus points for modifying it for the user with the history API as the title changes.

It is possible to add any slug behind the URLs to share it in a more readable fashion:
https://gist.io/@schacon/1/this-is-my-gist

For automatic slugs, I would suggest opening a dedicated ticket, if still desired.
