We will investigate why email notifications are not being triggered when a leave request is filed directly via the leave type icons. If this is a bug, we will work on a fix and update you once a patch is available.
In the meantime, as a workaround, you can continue using the "Create" button on the upper right to ensure email notifications are sent.

We notice that the email notification is not working if an employee files a leave directly to the leave type/icon.

But if you click the create icon on the upper right corner of the leave request. the email notification will be triggered.
Any patch that we can apply so that the email notification will be triggered as well if the employee use to file a leave via leave icons?
