Feature request: Python Markdown support

Hey Glenn, thanks a lot for the extension, it's very useful!

I kindly wanted to ask you to consider support for Python Markdown, which has a set nice extensions (some of which I believe are incorporated in GitHub-Flavored), and it's the Markdown flavor for BitBucket, along as an alternative to reStructuredText for documenting Python code.
