Recent update on macOS removed the ability to drag Ghostty without window decorations enabled. #5513
-
The recent update removed the ability to drag Ghostty when window decorations are disabled. This was a useful feature, especially for users who prefer a clean, borderless setup. Now, without decorations, there’s no way to reposition the window easily. Thanks for your work on Ghostty! |

Emphasis mine. I couldn't find any other discussions on this, so I guess this discussion could be the place to discuss that. |

I'll note that the option+drag part doesn't make it different for me, but you can still move the window around by grabbing the edge and moving your cursor in the perpendicular direction (e.g. put your cursor on the top edge and move it horizontally) 👍 Screen.Recording.2025-02-03.at.9.57.49.AM.mp4 |

This isn't meant to replace any commentary above from Mitchell or others; however, I know some people really like the hidden titlebar. MacOS has a feature that enables you to click & drag windows similarly to most common Linux distros, but it's sort of hidden. For those wishing to retain the ability to move the windows with a hidden titlebar in MacOS, this is probably the easiest "workaround":
