  • PTHR ID & PTN node:

GO:0017057 | 6-phosphogluconolactonase activity | IBA with P52697 , PTN001251230 | GO_REF:0000033

  • Sequences with problematic annotation (ID + gene/protein name):

https://www.pombase.org/gene/SPBC18E5.01

  • Type of Issue: Erroneous source or erroneous propagation, or other issue

  • Add the label 'high priority' if needed. Generally high priority issues affect a lot of proteins, and annotations are incorrect (as opposed to just imprecise).

This is inferred from E. coli.
The E. coli entry says supporting evidence says
Escherichia coli ORF ybhE is pgl gene encoding 6-phosphogluconolactonase (EC 3.1.1.31) that has no homology with known 6PGLs from other organisms.

I'm not sure this is a 6-phosphogluconolactonase activity
on fission yeast , because that activity is known to be

pgl1 https://www.pombase.org/gene/SPCC16C4.10 a canonical 6-phosphogluconolactonase

(we have SPBC18E5.01 classed as unknown)
