Environment:

  • Which branch: main
  • Which revision: HEAD
  • Any specific OS or system where the issue occurs? No
  • Any special versions of ROOT or Geant4? No

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Run npsim
  2. Plot eta/phi of HcalBarrelHits

Expected Result:

Given sufficient statistics, we should see a continuous distribution of hits across both eta/phi tile indices and eta/phi tile positions.

Actual Result:

However, there's a strange hole at high eta for a small 33 degree (ish) chunk of phi. This is despite the fact that there is a continuous distribution of hit eta/phi indices (as expected).

Plotting the eta/phi positions of tiles which have indices that should correspond to the hole shows that they're actually sitting close to the origin.
