Sub-issue description

We have a variety of vertical spacing tokens used across the .gov Registrar that aren't used consistently. This issue is to audit our current spacing settings, recommend any changes needed, and research how we can ensure we have these spacing rules documented in our design system in a way that is intuitive for designers to use.

Acceptance criteria

  • Audit vertical spacing across the .gov Registrar (note at a future point, we should do this with get.gov)
  • Create a developer ticket with recommended changes to align with what the design team recommends.
  • Research and set up some bare minimum guidance for designers to use so that designers know exactly what vertical spacing token to use in each use case.

Additional context

Some options discussed:

  • Update the spacing page in the design system file to be clearer and up to date with what we decided
  • Add spacing as components to be used as an alternative to auto layout padding settings
