not able to dowlaod RCEdit

i ran this command " briefcase build windows" and I got this "[rcedit] RCEdit was not found; downloading and installing...

I can download those files myself just now, but partial GitHub outages aren't unusual, so I would wait a while and then try again.

If it still doesn't work, check if there are any notifications from your firewall or anti-virus software. GitHub is also a frequent target of government censorship, if you're in a country where that happens.

I have waited a while and tried. Even after I disable my antivirus, I can't download the rcedit-x64.exe, but I can download the source code zip file. Which should I put in the briefcase's cache directory? Is it the zip file or the executable?

Briefcase will be expecting to find rcedit-x64.exe in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\BeeWare\briefcase\Cache\tools. If you're able to copy the exe into that location, Briefcase should be able to continue.

okay, i will wait a while, but I can use my GitHub account without any issues. i push most of my work to GitHub. I will try to disable my firewall temporarily and try again
