We can remove snap permanently

I'm not sure what snap offers us over the alternatives like flatpak, appImage, or just plain apt.

for me I find it annoying that snap creates a ~/snap/ directory in home directory by default.
another minor issue is that it clutters up lsblk with a bunch of loop partitions.

I'm curious, are you posting it as a feature request or a suggestion to discuss?
Have you tried Omakub without snap? If you have, then did you remove snap prior Omakub installation or after?
I'm considering Omakub myself, but I'd like to avoid Snap too, so I'm seeking for answers myself:

FYI, I've just followed the procedure encoded in this script https://github.com/polkaulfield/ubuntu-debullshit, but I have not run the script. Instead, I manually reproduced most of the steps, specifically, these. That is, I skipped everything related to:

• installing Flatpak
• installing vanilla Gnome

Additionally, I followed this official and up to date instructions to install Firefox and I also double checked this nosnap.pref trick from Linux Mint.

Un-snap-ping went fine. Next, I'm my Ubuntu that I tamper(ed) that deeply on a quest to Omakub it. I may be back here with results, if I have anything interesting to share.

I think it would make sense to install Omakub first and then remove snap after as some things are installed via snap. So would need to replace those things with non-snap installs.

But yeah I was curious if anyone else thought maybe it would be worth getting rid of Snap in the omakub script

FYI, I've cooked my own lightweight flavour of Omakub which I temporarily named playing with the antonym of the word "omakase" and "deb" i.e. https://github.com/mloskot/omakub/tree/ml/okonodeb, which I successfully used to install a very minimal subset of Omakub, without presence of snap, without installation of flatpak, any office-like apps, no deps required by Ruby or Node, no Chrome, not even NeoVim for which I'd prefer my own configs, etc. I'm not planning it to make my fork a reusable project. It only suits my very own needs. However, it can serve as a proof of concept for others, that it is basically takes 20 minutes work to trim down the Omakub according to one's needs.

ah yeah, I think for me i thought it was neat that omakub came with zoom, dropbox, spotify, etc .. made the transition easier

It surely is, no doubt.
I just have quite peculiar Ubuntu-specific needs here, and I'm not a web developer really.
