As it is, I find that each post/comment occupies way too much horizontal space. I find that the site would look much better if the comments were more compacted.
The following part of each comment should be changed into a more compact version, without loss of information.
I suggest hiding the "via X" information and put the "Vote" and "Reply" in the horizontal line.

Completely agreed, if you look at the layout of the "Inbox" section, that's where I've been experimenting with compacting that data. It just hasn't made it to the post feed/thread layouts yet.
I still would like to make it more compact, just haven't finished working on it yet.
Keeping this open as a reminder to make progress on this.
What are your plans to make it even more compact? The only thing I can see is removing the vertical space between the "Vote" and "Reply" buttons and the end/beggining of the post. The following picture ilustrates my idea:
Basically, remove the red area, or make it slimmer.
BTW, sorry that I raised this issue here. I didn't know about the front-end repo.
