At the moment this project has over 400 issues piled up and ignored, ranging from some simple ones like swapping cores, a very quarter baked chd support, etc... to some hard ones like managing and installing 3DS game updates.

The changelogs neither provide some insight about what changed between this version and the previous one other than "performance improvements" to day the least

This has led me to believe that the developer has effectively moved this software into maintenance mode and will not be providing any new features or QoL improvements and is this really the case?

I hope they are just working on a big update or something

None of the cores hasn't been updated in 2 years

The request I had made in this issue which I created in the Lemuroid cores GitHub has been sitting silent for a whole month

@nesper8 If youd do ur research ud see that the dev's working hard. Hes working on parts of lemuroid that are in other repos.
The repos libretrodroid, cheap upscaling triangular, glsl shader will be used in lemuroid.
Just take a look around, hes mostly keeping this project alive on his own.
In return you could do some research before crying out loud.
His last commit was yesterday on some of the mentioned repos.
Its comments like yours that take his time from actually working on the project.

Also you can just look into the code and compare the different versions if you need more details on the changelog

@david79111 if you really did your research, you'll will find that the commits are specifically towards his CUT3 upscaling method

If you really, really did your research you will find that 554 contributions was last years and this years accounts to just 27 commits. The most recent commits were all towards updating the android internal dependencies of LibretroDroid, Lemuroid and rather than being any feature, security or qol updates.

If you really, really, really did your research, you will find that I opened this issue on Nov 9, 2024, when Lemuroid as a whole was stagnating

If you really, really, really, really did your research, by opening up the individual commits you will that none of the commits really fix any of the issues I initially brought forward.

Commits in in the CUT3 repo after Nov 9: Swordfish90/cheap-upscaling-triangulation@0fd70b9 (LOC = +1 -1)

Swordfish90/cheap-upscaling-triangulation@6c50f70 (LOC = +3 -2)

Swordfish90/cheap-upscaling-triangulation@08c8ba8 (LOC = +4 -12)

Swordfish90/cheap-upscaling-triangulation@cc3beff (Dependency Bump)

Commits in in the Lemuroid repo after Nov 9: 16ce8b5 (Dependency Update)

5b56556 (First ever meaningful update)

47b5163 (Dependecy Bump)

Commits in LibretroDroid repo after Nov 9:
Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@58b34c8 (LOC = +332 -11)

Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@eb330d6 (LOC = +1, excluding oobe dependency version bump)

Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@3e2891b (commit to correct error in last commit)

Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@c289fba
(cmake version bump)

Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@576c322
(more error fixes)

Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@930afcd (fix for microphone recording) (LOC = +6 -2)

Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@76baa3b
(code formatting commit so I wont count LOC)

Swordfish90/LibretroDroid@a2d8b3d
(Dependency Bump)

If you really, really, really, really, really, really, really, did your research, you will notice that the GLSL repository is a fork of libretro's glsl shader repo and all the developer did was add his CUT 3 shaders into the mix and nothing else. All the heavy lifting is done by libretro members, who in no way is related to Lemuroid.

The only reason I wanted to stay in Lemuroid is that RetroArch was hard to learn and understand

Now I have no need for that because I lost hope in this project and actually took the time to invest and learn RetroArch

So thank you Lemuroid for being the motivation for me to learn how to use RetroArch

@nesper8 nesper8 closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Feb 12, 2025

The fact also persists that you need to compile your own version of Lemuroid to get the dependency bumped version because it has not been compiled and uploaded onto releases
