Formatting text blocks in forum post preview text

The forum preview box on the Recent Forum Posts widget and /forums/recent-posts can be potentially misleading. For example, my forum post here:

...is previewed like this:

The preview makes it appear that I'm saying something I didn't. In this case it's innocuous, but it opens the door for more serious misinterpretation of important community figures, such as moderators. However, I assume these larger text block effects such as [quote] or [code] can't be nicely accommodated in the small preview, due to the space required. Would be interested in hearing other thoughts on this.
