modpacks when installed having no mod installed in them

Describe the bug

when i install a mod pack eg simply optimized when loading in the game no mods are downloaded ad the sodium vid settings arent there indicating mods havent been installed even after i checked the folders it had no mods

could it be because i have a demo account?

Steps To Reproduce

1. download a modpack profile 
2. one downloaded no mods are found when booted up just the loader (ie fabric 1.20.1)

Expected Behavior

modpacks should have mods in them loaded
