Web interface #292
Comments
At this moment, it's difficult to capture all species in one screenshot because of the two scrollbars on the web page. Even if 50 species are displayed on one page, I still need to take multiple screenshots. It would be much easier if the window size could be adjusted and the scrollbar removed, allowing me to capture everything in a single screenshot. |
Hi @SancyW, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, visual design is not a strength of the MUSICA development team. We will try to make this better |
@K20shores Thank you for your and the team’s effort! Or maybe just going back to the previous version is good enough. |
HI @SancyW, we will not be going back to the previous version. Sorting and filtering are features that we need. A UI update to display more information while keeping sorting and filtering is possible though. Or, if you need a tool to pull information out of a mechanism, we can add that to music box. It sounds like you're using screenshots as part of your workflow. Maybe that's a new feature waiting to happen? |
@K20shores Thanks! Sounds good. Looking forward to the sorting and filtering feature. I don't need to extract some information from a mechanism at this moment, but I need to take a screenshot to keep a record for every case. BTW, can the comparison feature I mentioned earlier be added? Specifically, to compare the differences between two configurations, including initial conditions and emissions. For now, it's difficult to compare each one individually as the mechanisms and species become more complex. |
@SancyW the diff tool would be very useful. We are working to create a new system that allows you to manage your own mechanisms in a database that you can log into, and that would mean you no longer need screenshots. It's just a tag that you create and you can always go back to it. This would also be a good place for the diff tool. It's called Chemistry Cafe. I've been working with students at Texas A&M to get it ready. |
@K20shores Great! That would be a fantastic tool! Sounds really cool, and I'm really looking forward to trying Chemistry Cafe when it's ready! Thank you and the students at TAMU! |
The value of the up-down button can easily be changed. It would be better if the data could be fixed, like in the previous web interface, where input data could not be altered.
previous:

Like in the previous web interface, where all initial conditions and emission data could be shown.
