What happened?

Using Windows Terminal (Windows 10), loading omp shell takes anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds. Previous answers have told me to add the oh-my-posh.exe to Window Defender exclusions, and I have done that. But, it is still equally slow.

Loading personal and system profiles took 63180ms.

What's going on here? If there's way to profile this loading specifically, let me know.

I have the same issue and managed to reduce the load time to around 2000ms from 4000-6000+ms (I had other stuff being loaded so my load time is higher than the typical use case) by just hardcoding the output of oh-my-posh init pwsh to $profile and then adding a file exclusion for both profile and theme json on Windows Defender. This at least minimizes the impact of Invoke-Expression and WD

Indeed, as you can see the Run duration: 122.1057ms where git takes the most time, it's not oh-my-posh taking so much time. Neither for init. We noticed that you also have exclude powershell.exe from Defender, which is really ridiculous.

So, these are my current exclusions, but nothing has changed milliseconds side.
But! If I manually disable real-time protection, there's no delay at all and it's istantenous... Which makes me think I'm missing other exclusions? All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Added the profile.ps1 script to the exclusion and freed around 200ms. Now it seems pretty stable under 1000ms. Far from the instantenous no protection

EDIT2: I'm going crazy now. All of these new ones made absolutely no difference, at all.
