When already on a call within the Phone app, how to take an incoming call?

I admit that I can be amazingly dense sometimes... But with the default dialer app on my phone (Google's, I think), I managed to figure out how to put the current call on hold and switch to the newly incoming call.

For some reason, I simply cannot seem to do the same on the otherwise-far-superior Fossify phone app. Everything I do seems to disconnect/hang-up the current call while NOT getting me connected to the newly incoming call. I end up having to return both calls with apologies.

Can someone please explain what I should be doing or point me at some discussion/documentation?

Have you tried answering the second call using the notification? That's how I usually do it.

To switch between ongoing calls, use the swap button on the call screen.

Improvements regarding multiple calls (conference, hold) are planned.

Hi and thanks for trying to help.

I am not getting any notification for the 2nd, incoming, call. By this I mean nothing on Android's pull-down shade where I can see an on-going call notification.

I do see a grey bar along the top edge of the phone app screen that shows the 2nd call and says "on hold". But nothing I tap anywhere on the screen seems to allow me to switch calls. Indeed, nothing seems to respond other than the hang up button at the bottom - which simply disconnects the 1st call (or so it seems).

I looked at that related issue. It seems I am not alone. One thing I note is that both that user and I seem to be getting full-screen incoming calls. And, indeed, I do have the the option checked to always display incoming calls full-screen. If I turn that off, I do indeed get a notification and can use it to at least switch to the 2nd call. Not sure I can switch back as I need to test that more. So perhaps that option is the key piece of info needed for that issue. I will add to that issue.
