A Mendeley icon would be great. 👍, e.g. based off of their favicon? Currently I use this:

I can see about getting an SVG version from them.

As we know, weibo is chinese twitter. So I think it's very necessary to add it.
Here is the official icon.

Thanks, but I don't see how this request for scholarly literature icons Google scholar or Mendeley became a request for weibo....

The request originally included weibo. @davegandy removed weibo from the title as it has been added.

To continue the discussion, an icon for Google Scholar and Mendeley would be great. Carl's suggestion for Mendeley is a good one. GS's favicon would be a good way to go, I think.

For posterity, the current favicon looks like this:

Mendeley's icon would be a nice addition, It's becoming more common in academia to link to mendeley profile.

I second the Google Scholar and Mendelet request, and I take this opportunity to request more acadèmic icons: ResearchGate, ResearcherId, Academia.edu. I enclose some icons.

As Google Scholar was requested >12 months ago, and RG 4 months ago - is there any feedback?

The title of the post hasn't been updated to reflect the additional icon requests... do we need to create new posts?

I don't think that not picking an icon because it is not "Google official" is worth missing a Google scholar icon in the portfolio.
The number of answers in this thread (it's been open since 2012, 11 years ago) shows the relevance of the problem.

The Google scholar icon is widely spread in the form that Wikipedia has.
Most people reference that, or would instantly unequivocally recognise that logo as a Google Scholar logo.

Hey everyone, given that its been over a decade now and FontAwesome devs are unwilling to budge with their stringent rules, consider using this alternative: https://jpswalsh.github.io/academicons/.

Alright, folks! Hoping to add the Google Scholar logo to our next release. Here's the conundrum. We cannot currently find a single color version of their current logo, which is a requirement for our system. So. We're going to need to make our own.

CleanShot 2023-08-14 at 17 12 15@2x

The icon on the left is the full color logo. The icons on the right are some single color options that we've worked up. We could use some input. For reference, this is what the single-color Google Chrome icon looks like:

A or B actually are preferable. C's scheme loses resemblance to the original logo. If I had to pick one, I highly prefer B since it follows the color highlights best without losing focus of the original icon. The other two do not really look like a person wearing a graduation cap (as in the original logo).

My two cents - I think B is the best one. However, the issue with B is that given the lack of depth, the mortarboard hat doesn't look separate from the head like it does with A. This makes B resemble a person wearing a cardinal's hat. If B had the same gap between the hat and the head that A has, it would be a perfect D option. The issue with A is that the head more like a pokeball than an actual head...

C looks just like a flattened out fountain pen nib.

B is better. But, there is another logo which I see often in the university databases: https://www.pngegg.com/en/png-ebchm

This was the old version of the logo, maybe they didn't replace with the newer one

As per the logo, I would use a full circle for user head and the mortarboard (sorry I've used macOS preview 😅)

This is awesome! This version of the modern logo is the one that I would go with.

I would add that the ones with the mortarboard split in half somewhat resemble a bishop's hat?
