Queueserver is a good choice for an instrument that runs from a set of pre-existing plans.

Certain techniques come to mind:

  • powder diffraction
  • small-angle scattering
  • absorption spectroscopy
  • tomography
  • photon correlation spectroscopy

The queueserver is good for the routine set of measurements performed by each of these techniques. A switch to an interactive IPython session is useful when customization must happen during the beam time.
