I listened to this HeatGeek podcast with the founder of Homely Energy: https://youtu.be/J7dofAJppK8?si=xTQK4juRkH6fr9oz and it seemed to me that HomeAssistant could achieve something similar?
I have an old Daikin ASHP - circa 2014 - and Arnold's P1P2MQTT solution gives my HomeAssistant the kind of control that (I think) a Homely system might have.
I also tripped over this repository: https://github.com/davidusb-geek/emhass which seems to do some of the logic & control that Homely describe.
So, finally a question: Does anyone here have any first-hand experience of stitching some or all of these components together?
This repo can handle issuing the Modbus commands, and maybe the EMHASS repo can handle the logic around flow temp control / modelling heat loss / making the most of variable-rate energy tariffs?
I'm asking because my technical capabilities are limited to copy/paste
