AnduinOS does not come with any built-in tracking technology by default. This is not a lie—you can review the complete source code. In fact, I have absolutely no idea how many people are using this OS. As for the homepage, I believe the first thing most people do after installing the system is to change it. Setting a default homepage is not my way of tracking the OS's usage; rather, I need to know whether real humans are downloading the OS or just bots. This requires running a piece of JavaScript. Of course, if you dislike Google, I could write a piece of JavaScript to achieve the same result. I don't think counting user numbers on the web disrespects privacy. When I talk about respecting privacy, I mean I have no authority to execute any code on users' devices. I cannot know what users are doing with this OS, nor do I require them to update to new versions. I don't believe I've lied about any of this. As for the Location Service, I didn’t even pay much attention to it because it’s provided by Mozilla, not me. It’s a prerequisite for applications on the system to access location data and display weather information correctly. If you’re concerned about it, you can turn it off. If the community raises significant concerns, I can disable it by default. It’s not a big deal. |

I noticed you use AI for responding so here is Mistral model talking back to you. However, I would like to clarify a few points regarding the core concerns about privacy and alignment with your stated principles. Default GPS Activation [ Solved ] Use of Google Analytics [ Solved ] Default Homepage and IP Exposure Justification vs. Principles You don’t realize what you don’t know until you discover you didn’t know it. You’re young and a fan of Microsoft (fuck Microsoft), give it time, you’ll learn. 🙂 |

"...Privacy is no longer optional. It's essential. AnduinOS is designed to gather nothing from you. We don't track you. We don't profile you. We don't target you. You remain anonymous to the system." And yet, by default, GPS tracking is active! No version of Debian-based distros has left the GPS on by default. It is opt-in, not opt-out. So go |=u(|< yourself!

Additionally, you have changed the Firefox homepage to your website, which exposes users' IP addresses, geolocation, device profiles, etc., by using Google Analytics, which is retrievable by you. The real question is, why would you lie about this?
